Guanacaste airport welcomes its 15 millionth passenger
Guanacaste Airport, part of VINCI Airports network since 2018, proudly celebrated the arrival of its 15 millionth passenger since the terminal opened in 2012. The passenger travelled from Houston, Texas, in the United States.
This milestone reflects the growing international interest in Guanacaste and its unique multi-destination offer. Since becoming part of the VINCI Airports network, Guanacaste Airport has steadily increased its connectivity and passenger services, contributing to Costa Rica's reputation as one of Latin America’s key travel destinations. In 2024, Guanacaste Airport welcomed 1.9 million passengers, confirming its role as a key driver of international tourism in the region.
"15 million is more than just a number; it represents the trust that so many travelers and airlines place in Guanacaste as a premier destination. This encourages us to continue fostering positive mobility and sustainable growth supported by the dedication, commitment and passion for quality towards those who choose our region for leisure or business." said César Jaramillo, general manager of Guanacaste Airport.
