This new agreement confirms the commitment of both partners to work together to improve welcomeness at airports, raise public awareness, and support the energy transition of light and sport aviation.

Two events exemplify the spirit of the first six years of collaboration. The joint organization of the VINCI Airports Electric Tour in 2024 demonstrated the operational viability of electric aircraft by connecting several airports in the VINCI Airports network in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region (Annecy, Chambéry, Grenoble, and Clermont-Ferrand airports). That same year, hosting the Young Pilots' Air Tour in Dinard and Clermont-Ferrand, a veritable summer school for young pilots, helped to inspire vocations in piloting and to promote careers in aviation to the public.

Beyond these flagship events, the partnership has profoundly transformed the relationship between the airport management and flying clubs. The collaboration has evolved from a traditional airport management-user relationship to a constructive and regular dialogue on shared topics, such as noise management and aviation promotion initiatives.

Through the 2026-2028 agreement, the partners intend to continue and deepen the areas of collaboration already undertaken.

Regarding the sector's energy transition, VINCI Airports and the French Aeronautical Federation (FFA) will continue to work together with the rest of the industry, particularly airlines and aircraft manufacturers, to accelerate the advent of the low-carbon aircraft. VINCI Airports is deploying the necessary infrastructure at its airports, such as providing Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and installing charging stations for electric aircraft, which are already operational at six airports in the French network. For its part, the FFA continues its strong commitment to promoting electric aircraft and is working to encourage their adoption within its flying clubs.

The two partners will also continue their joint actions to promote aviation, its professions and its innovations to the regions and the public through events and one-off operations, allowing them to highlight the scale of the sector in France and the possible opportunities.

Kevin Dupuch, President of the French Aeronautical Federation: “The renewal of this partnership with VINCI Airports is a continuation of our shared approach aimed at better integrating light and sport aviation into its environment. Together, we are working to revitalize local communities, foster vocations, and support the environmental transition. The social value of light aviation, a unique model in Europe, is thus recognized and sustainably preserved.”

Valérie Vesque-Jeancard, Deputy Director France of VINCI Airports: “Through this second renewal of our agreement with the FFA, we want to give light and sport aviation all the space and visibility it deserves on our platforms, as a training ground for the pilots and aeronautical technicians of tomorrow. Beyond raising awareness of this sector of excellence for our country and inspiring vocations, we jointly want to highlight, better welcome, and promote electric light aviation, because we share with the FFA the conviction that light aviation is a fantastic laboratory for inventing the sustainable aviation of tomorrow.”

After 15 months of construction work and an investment of €15 million, Nantes Atlantique Airport has commissioned new electrical infrastructure designed to significantly reduce emissions from ground operations. The airport now features 12 electrified aircraft stands and 100 additional electric charging points for airside vehicles and ground support equipment, fully aligned with VINCI Airports’ environmental strategy and the European regulation to decarbonise the aviation sector.

The electrification of ground operations is an immediate lever for reducing the carbon footprint of airlines and ground handling companies, which account for an airport’s indirect emissions (Scope 3). Thanks to these new facilities, aircraft parked at contact stands can now be supplied with electricity and air conditioning without using auxiliary power units or thermal equipment.

At the same time, the airport has deployed 100 electric charging points across the apron: 7.4 kW chargers for light vehicles, 120 kW chargers for buses, as well as sockets adapted for baggage tractors and refuelling vehicles. This modernisation significantly reduces the use of fossil fuels and can cut greenhouse gas emissions from ground operations by up to 50%.

With a total investment of €15 million, the project was funded 70% by Aéroports du Grand Ouest (AGO), with 30% support from the European Union and backing from Banque des Territoires. It meets the requirements of the European AFIR regulation (Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation), which mandates the electrification of aircraft stands by 2030.

This initiative is also part of VINCI Airports’ environmental strategy, which aims to achieve net zero emissions across its airports in the European Union and the United Kingdom by 2030.

“By electrifying aircraft stands and deploying charging stations for ground support equipment, we are helping to reduce emissions from airlines and ground handling companies. This is fully in line with the strategy we are pursuing to reduce the environmental impact of airport activities. This commitment, led by VINCI Airports since 2016, is part of a comprehensive approach to reducing CO₂ emissions from our own airport operations while also addressing those generated by third parties,” said Guillaume Dubois, Chairman of Aéroports du Grand Ouest and CEO of Nantes Atlantique Airport.

“By electrifying its ground services, Nantes Atlantique Airport is positioning itself among Europe’s leading airports, firmly committed to the decarbonisation of the aviation sector. With a grant of nearly €4.5 million, the European Union has supported this initiative, which represents a major step forward towards a sustainable, low-carbon airport model, both in the Pays de la Loire region and across Europe, directly contributing to European climate ambitions,” added Richard Ferrer, Head of the Alternative Fuels Sector at the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).

This strong growth reaffirms VINCI Airports' status as the world’s leading private airport operator and aligns with the overall upward trend in air traffic.

Beyond the annual results, the fourth quarter of 2025 also showed a traffic increase (+3.2%) compared to the same period in 2024, confirming robust momentum in several regions.

Several European airports continue to record very strong growth. The airports of Budapest and Edinburgh, the latest additions to the VINCI Airports network, deliver remarkable performances: Budapest airport is experiencing double-digit growth, driven by the dynamism of airlines easyJet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air across all their markets. Mediterranean connections, especially to Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Israel, are registering significant peaks. Meanwhile, Edinburgh airport shows a solid growth, also supported by the rise of flights to Mediterranean destinations (Spain, Italy, and Turkey) and the British domestic market. Belgrade airport traffic continues its impressive progression, driven primarily in Q4 by the expansion of Wizz Air's routes to Western Europe.

In Portugal, Porto airport experienced an increase in traffic driven by the growth of low-cost airline offerings and the expansion of transatlantic routes. The strong momentum at Lisbon airport continued, with notable growth in long-haul flights, particularly to Asian and Latin American markets. This long-haul segment also progressed at London Gatwick airport, while domestic traffic in the UK slowed due to the reorganization of low-cost airline offerings. In France, traffic growth at Lyon airport was fueled by international flights to a diverse range of destinations: Germany via Lufthansa, Eastern Europe with Wizz Air, and the Mediterranean region with Transavia and easyJet.

In Latin America and Africa, several airports experienced traffic acceleration this quarter. In Brazil, Salvador de Bahia recorded traffic records in Q4, driven by GOL's expansion and long-haul traffic supported by TAP and Air Europa. The seasonal strengthening of the Air France route between Salvador and Paris CDG also contributed to the increase of capacities during this period. In Mexico, Monterrey airport is maintaining its strong momentum with nearly 10% growth, primarily fueled by Volaris and Viva Aerobus. Growth is also excellent in Costa Rica, where connections to the United States continued to bolster traffic. Meanwhile, airports in Cabo Verde are continuing their upward trend, supported in particular by operations from easyJet and Transavia. New routes to France and the United Kingdom enriched the offerings and complemented growth driven by connections to Portugal.

In Japan, traffic results increased in Q4 despite geopolitical tensions with China, which led to some flight cancellations in December. These events tempered the strong recovery in international traffic observed up until then.

Salvador Bahia Airport, part of VINCI Airports’ network since 2018, is pioneering Brazil’s aviation decarbonization by becoming the country’s first airport to supply Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for commercial operations. Regular use of SAF begins this November. This marks a significant milestone for the airport and for VINCI Airports’ commitment to accelerating the energy transition across its mobility infrastructure and with its stakeholders.

Salvador Bahia Airport already stands as a regional benchmark for environmental performance. As the first airport in the Americas to achieve the highest level of Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA 5), it has implemented advanced practices for carbon management and reduction. Today, more than 15 airports across our network already offer SAF, and the introduction of this fuel into regular operations in Salvador further strengthens this position and aligns with decarbonization goals across the VINCI Airports network.

In Brazil, SAF is distributed commercially by Vibra. The fuel blend used at Salvador complies with international sustainability criteria and can help lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions compared to conventional jet fuel.

Two daily flights departing from Salvador Bahia and operated by Gol Linhas Aéreas and LATAM Airlines Brasil are now supplied with SAF. They use a blend containing 10% pure SAF and 90% conventional jet fuel, currently the highest proportion applied in Brazilian aviation. The pure SAF, produced from used cooking oil, is presently the only one available on the national market. While emissions from flights fall under airlines’ scope 1 and the airport’s scope 3, this renewable fuel contributes to reducing lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional jet fuel. Its introduction at Salvador Bahia Airport represents a concrete first step in expanding SAF use in Brazil’s aviation sector and supporting more sustainable operational praactices.

Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues highlights that Bahia is already one of the most advanced states in the country in green technologies, especially in the automotive, renewable energy, and emerging industry sectors.

“Bahia has made significant progress in clean energy production and in building a more sustainable future, where development and social justice move forward together,” said the governor. “During our participation in COP30, we made clear that the Bahia government is aligned with Brazil’s stance on the shared responsibility we all have in the face of the climate crisis,” he added.

Julio Ribas, CEO of VINCI Airports in Brazil, which operates Salvador Bahia Airport (and seven airports in the Amazonia), highlights that the regular use of SAF represents another decisive step toward sustainable aviation in Brazil:

“SAF is currently the most effective tool for reducing emissions in commercial aviation. Being able to offer flights fueled with SAF in Salvador on a continuous basis places Bahia at the forefront of the energy transition and reinforces our commitment to transforming passenger journeys with increasingly sustainable solutions.”

High load factors and an increasing airline seat supply fueled this expansion. Some hubs performed particularly well: resort destinations around the Mediterranean in Europe and routes between China and Japan.

In Portugal, the summer season was marked by solid traffic growth in Lisbon, and even more so in Porto, Faro and Funchal (+7% on average across these four airports). In Lisbon, European connections (Germany and Italy in particular) served by low-cost airlines and long-haul traffic with the United States and Brazil were the main drivers. Porto and Faro airports continue to attract many passengers from the United Kingdom and Germany. In France, Nantes and Lyon airports recorded good traffic in August. In Nantes, French, Spanish and Italian tourist destinations were very popular (increased service from easyJet and Air France Group airlines). In Lyon, French and North African destinations performed well. In the two latest acquisitions of the VINCI Airports network, in Edinburgh and Budapest, traffic growth was remarkable, driven by destinations in Western Europe and the Mediterranean region. In Belgrade , traffic grew by double digits on routes to Greece, Italy, Germany and Spain. Cabo Verde airports continue to grow at a strong pace, thanks to the strengthening of services from TACV, TAP and Transavia, and new flights from easyJet.

Belfast International and London Gatwick airports have been hit by a decline in the number of seats on sale. This is mainly due to the reorganization of flights by some low-cost airlines in favor of longer segments to tourist destinations and to the detriment of domestic flights within the United Kingdom (which penalizes the number of rotations, and therefore the number of seats on sale).

Strong summer demand in Japan, illustrated by the increase in load factors despite an increased seat supply, was boosted by the Universal Exhibition held in Osaka. Connections with China were very busy (+51% compared to 2024; +24% compared to 2019), thanks to the significant increase in flights offered by Chinese airlines. Regional markets (South Korea; Taiwan) as well as domestic routes continue to perform well. In Cambodia, where VINCI Airports is the concessionaire of Sihanoukville airport and, since September 9, has been operating the new Techo International airport in Phnom Penh through an operating contract, the recovery of traffic continues, driven by regional connections including China.

In Mexico, traffic growth was spectacular at Monterrey (+15%), where Volaris' capacity more than doubled; the company had suffered the grounding of some aircraft for engine maintenance last year. Traffic growth at Mexican airports is driven in particular by connections with the United States. In Brazil, the Salvador de Bahia airport benefited from good domestic GOL Airlines momentum and long-haul traffic driven by Air Europa and Air France. In Amazonia, double-digit traffic growth was enabled by increased capacity from both Brazilian and international airlines. In the Dominican Republic, traffic at Santo Domingo is penalized by the repositioning of Arajet aircraft to other airports, penalizing regional services. Traffic with the United States remains dynamic.

Rennes Bretagne Airport, jointly managed by VINCI Airports and the Ille-et-Vilaine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has inaugurated an ultra-fast charging station in partnership with Electra, a European leader in electric charging. The station, open 24/7, is designed for both passengers and local residents.

A service offering designed for everyone

Located in close proximity to the airport, this new station allows all types of electric vehicles to be recharged in just 12 to 20 minutes, thanks to ultra-fast charging stations capable of delivering up to 400 kW per charging point. The total connection capacity is set to evolve to 2 MW by the end of the year.

In line with the passenger experience offered by VINCI Airports, this station has been designed to make every charging session simple and fast. It offers:

An intuitive and user-friendly interface

Multiple payment options: mobile app, EMSP (e-Mobility Service Provider) badge, or credit card

Transparent pricing

24/7 assistance available

The station meets the needs of both residents in the southern part of Rennes and the heavy traffic on the D177 and N136 roads, which see 20,000 and over 60,000 vehicles per day, respectively. It enhances the existing offering at Rennes Bretagne Airport, bringing the total number of charging points in the airport's parking areas to 73 stations.

A project supporting the region's energy transition

Since 2016, Rennes Bretagne Airport has already reduced its direct CO2 emissions by 50% and continues its efforts through:

The use of 100% green electricity and the widespread adoption of LED lighting,

Optimization of water consumption and a strong focus on waste management, including a partnership with Paprec and, more recently, the recycling of bio-waste with CMV,

The gradual electrification of ground handling equipment (80% of the most polluting equipment will be electric by the end of 2025).

This ultra-fast charging station represents a new milestone in the commitment of Rennes Bretagne Airport and VINCI Airports to more sustainable mobility, serving both passengers and local residents. It aligns with VINCI Airports' environmental policy on Scope 3 emissions, aiming to reduce the carbon footprint associated with passenger and stakeholder travel. As part of this effort, VINCI Airports is increasingly offering more charging points across its network.

For example, in 2024, VINCI Airports signed a contract with TotalEnergies for the deployment and operation of over 800 electric charging points in the parking areas of Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport. At London Gatwick Airport, an Electric Forecourt charging station dedicated to electric vehicles was also launched in 2024. Additionally, Osaka Itami Airport in Japan introduced a "WeCharge" electric charging station, featuring the largest parking facility for electric vehicles in the country.

“The development of electric mobility is part of Rennes Bretagne Airport’s environmental strategy and aligns with the ambition of the Brittany Region: in addition to reducing our direct emissions, we are also taking action with our various stakeholders. This new charging station for light vehicles will help decarbonize part of the travel of both passengers and airport employees, while enhancing our service offering for travelers, visitors, and local residents,” said Yannick Bouiller, Director of Rennes and Dinard Bretagne airports.
